Attempts to speed up NeRF training have mainly focused on reconstruction, leaving generation lagging. Enter 3D Gaussian splatting, a promising alternative that excels in both quality and speed for 3D reconstruction. Their framework accommodates non-zero elevations and incorporates a text-to-image-to-3D pipeline for enhanced results compared to direct text-to-3D conversion.
